Sculpting Trim Sheets in ZBrush - Trim Texture Tutorial Part 2
Probably one of the most commom design elements I come across, a trim on the edges of armor plates, leather straps and even fabric. The Planar Cut brush (available in Lightbox in the Planar folder under the Brush tab) cuts a plane at the tilt and depth created at the beginning of the stroke. The Trim Curve brush removes polygons which are unnecessary for cleanly capping the remaining mesh. This hole closing function is able to close complex holes.

Using the Planar brush gives more control than using the Planar Cut on its own. The Trim Curve brush removes polygons which are unnecessary for cleanly capping the remaining mesh. If you have well defined polygroups , Panel Loops can be used to create overlapping plate effects.
